Hi there, I’m Charlie!
When I was little, I had a phase of asking “why?” to everything my mom said. Everything. Why was dinner ready? Why did I need to brush my teeth? I kept asking questions, until eventually I ran to my room and brought out a giant foam “Y” that was part of my floor-sized alphabet. A misunderstanding, yes, but also the beginning of my interest in understanding the world around me.
As I continue pushing my work in new directions, asking “Y” has proven itself to be a crucial part of my creative process. Whether it relates to lighting, anatomy, or technical software questions, I feel so inspired by new tidbits of information. I weave these pieces of knowledge together, aiming to create projects that display both my enthusiasm and connection to each story that I tell.
